True Dark Story - Someone was there
Elise was home alone after school one day, and her dog, Lily, was sitting in her room. Elise was petting Lily when she suddenly heard a noise that sounded like footsteps. She didn't think much of it at first, since Lily has a bouncy ball that makes a similar sound. But then she realized that the ball was still in the corner of the room where she had left it.
Elise went upstairs to check, and the ball was still there. But when she came back downstairs, Lily was acting nervous. She was looking around and barking, and Elise could tell that she was scared.
A few minutes later, Elise heard the footsteps again. This time, they were coming from two floors above her room. Lily started barking even louder, and she was backing away from the stairs. Elise was starting to get really scared, so she went to check it out.
When Elise got to the top of the stairs, she didn't see anything. But Lily was still barking and growling, and she was backing up even further. The footsteps were coming from Elise's parents' bedroom, and she could hear them clearly now.
Elise was so scared that she started shaking. She quickly put a leash on Lily and grabbed her phone and keys. She didn't see anyone, but the footsteps and Lily's reaction made it feel so real that Elise started sobbing and then crying uncontrollably.
Elise ran outside and called her mom, who came home from work a few minutes later. She calmed Elise down and checked the house, but there was no one there. Elise and her mom live in an old house, and the windows and doors are pretty old, so it's possible that someone could have gotten in without them knowing. But they never saw anyone, and they never found any evidence that someone had been in the house.
Elise still doesn't know what happened that day, but she'll never forget the sound of those footsteps. It's a sound that still gives her the chills to this day.
