As I reflect on my family dynamics, one incident stands out as the stingiest thing I've seen a family member do. My uncle, known for his extreme frugality, took it to a new level during a family gathering. We were all celebrating my cousin's birthday, and my uncle insisted on bringing his own food, drinks, and even utensils to avoid "wasting" any of the party supplies.

But the pièce de résistance was when he pulled out a small container of homemade jam from his pocket and proceeded to spread a meager amount on his bread, carefully scraping off any excess to reuse later. The room fell silent, with some family members giggling and others looking on in disbelief. My cousin, the birthday boy, was taken aback by his uncle's extreme thriftiness on his special day.

While we all appreciate the importance of saving and being resourceful, this incident took it to an uncomfortable extreme.
