Life is a journey of experiences, some wonderful, some painful. We learn, we grow, and hopefully, we evolve. As I continue to evolve, there are certain things I've decided to leave behind, habits and choices that no longer serve me. In the spirit of sharing, here are 10 things I'm bidding farewell to, and why you might want to consider doing the same:

1. Tolerating Disrespect: No relationship, romantic or otherwise, is worth sacrificing your self-respect. Life is too short to be around people who bring you down. Surround yourself with those who value you and treat you with kindness.

2. Textual Tirades: Communication is key, but social media and texting are not always the best platforms for resolving conflict. They can easily lead to misunderstandings and escalate emotions. Face-to-face conversations allow for clearer communication and empathy.

3. Expired Edibles: Food poisoning is no joke. While sniffing the milk might be a childhood habit, checking the expiry date on dairy products (and everything else!) is simply good sense. Your stomach will thank you.

4. Chameleon Complex: Authenticity is a beautiful thing. Don't contort yourself to fit someone else's mold. Embrace your unique qualities and find people who appreciate you for who you truly are.

5. People-Pleasing Peril: We all want to be liked, but trying to please everyone is an impossible and exhausting task. Set healthy boundaries, focus on your own values, and let go of the need for universal approval.

6. The TV Vortex: There's nothing wrong with indulging in some screen time now and then. But mindlessly binging TV shows can eat into precious hours you could spend doing things you actually enjoy and find fulfilling. Be mindful of your media consumption and choose quality over quantity.

7. Living in the Land of "What Ifs": Dwelling on past mistakes or missed opportunities is a recipe for unhappiness. Learn from your experiences, forgive yourself, and focus on creating a future filled with possibilities.

8. Neglecting the Temple: Your body is your home, treat it with respect! Prioritize healthy habits like eating nutritious foods, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly. You'll feel better physically and mentally.

9. Blind Trust Blues: Trust is essential, but blind trust can be dangerous. Be discerning, observe actions, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Healthy skepticism can protect you from getting hurt.

10. Silencing the Muse: Writing, in whatever form it takes, can be a powerful tool for expression, exploration, and growth. Don't let self-doubt or fear hold you back. Keep writing, keep sharing your voice, and see where it takes you.

Remember, you are the author of your story. Choose wisely what stays on the page and what gets crossed out. What are some things you've decided to leave behind on your journey of self-discovery? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
